  • Hosted a Food Board Night….

Last week, I decided I wanted to get my friend group out of their comfort zone. As everyone knows, I am a massive foodie, but my FAVORITE thing is when other people cook for me (sorry, not sorry). SOOO, I proposed a food board night. Each of us girlies picked a general food group or food board trend, and gave it our all. Can you guess which one was mine?

Here are the boards that were brought, and the general rating from my friend group:

    1. Taco Bell Board: this received a 2/10 from the group. I respect the cheaper option, but I’m (surprisingly) not a big taco bell girl. Also, the queso was cold. Criminal.
    2. Dessert Board: this received a 5/10. This board mostly consisted of fresh fruits, store bought cookies, and homemade brownies, which were super yummy. The overall taste of the board was great, but we need some creativity, people!!!
    3. Baked Brie Board: this received a 7/10. A classic that’s perfect for dipping and had a delicious creamy/crunchy combo.
    4. Baked Boursin Board: this received an 8/10. The little pieces of garlic toast were *chef’s kiss* along with that creamy cheese. If I could have this as my everyday snack, I would.
    5. Charcuterie Board: this received a 9/10. Charcuterie Boards are the ultimate staple of food board night! They can be colorful, creative, and tasty all at once.
    6. Italian Board: this received a 6/10. Although the little kabobs were delicious and cute, the meatball/marinara combo was lacking a little.

Overall, we had a great time with our little food board adventure, and I can’t wait for the next one! Here are some (sorta bad quality) photos below. I promise I’ll take some better quality pics next time! <3

  • BookTok is taking over!!

BookTok, a growing community on TikTok that’s focused on books, is taking over the app and making reading the new hot thing. What started with simple book recommendations and reviews has evolved into viral trends, with users sharing emotional reactions, book hauls, and reading vlogs. Books featured on BookTok often soar to bestseller lists, showing the massive influence this community has on the literary world. The word “BookTok” is even plastered all over Barnes and Nobles these days.

What makes BookTok special is how it’s changed the way reading is viewed. It’s no longer just a solitary activity; it’s a social one. The platform has made reading “cool” again, creating a space for people to connect over shared love for books. This shift has made reading feel more accessible and fun, drawing in people who may not have considered themselves avid readers before. My little sister has recently joined the BookTok crowd and consistently posts reviews and “reading wrap-ups.” It looks like this community is only going to keep growing, so it might be a good idea to hop on the train!

  • Hello world!

Hi, I’m Emily, a 26-year-old student from Virginia. Right now, you might be thinking, “Who cares?” And honestly, I wouldn’t blame you. I’m just an ordinary person living an ordinary life. But even though most of us are regular folks, sometimes we experience things that aren’t so ordinary. And in those moments, we want our voices to be heard.

I grew up in a typical family with two divorced parents and two siblings. From a young age, I was a total foodie. I’d beg my parents to take me to fancy restaurants, try new cuisines, and experiment with fun recipes. My picky-eater siblings definitely didn’t share my enthusiasm, but I loved embracing my adventurous side. That is, until my passion for food shifted from being a joy to something that weighed me down with insecurity and bitterness. What started as a love for delicious food began consuming me in ways I never expected.

After years of learning to heal my relationship with food, I’m ready to reconnect with my passion—the healthy way. Through this blog, and by also diving into my love for reality TV and social media, I’m determined to face challenges head-on. With my dedication to food, entertainment, and a little bit of adventure, I hope to not only bring fun to my readers but also inspire them along the way.
